Saunas
The lifeblood of every Finn, saunas are one of the fundamental building blocks of mental health and physical wellbeing
The Finnish Sauna
The lifeblood of every Finn, a sauna represents not only a space of peace and tranquility where mental health and physical wellbeing are nurtured and cared for, but also spaces for the family to come together, to escape the stresses of everyday life, to ground oneself.
Finnished saunas are built as living, breathing spaces totally in harmony with your home and surroundings. As such, there is no “one-size-fits-all” - the approach is bespoke, unique, and dedicated to achieving the best possible result
Only the most traditional and genuine materials are used in the construction of Finnished saunas - wood plays the most important part and the selection of wood is vital. Choosing a wood with sap will easily lead to burns on the skin and discomfort in the sauna. The internal size of the sauna space is also important, as that ensures that the generation of steam is of the right proportion to the capacity of the room. These are but two of the design elements that are essential considerations in every sauna project.
As with most things, the end result depends on the detail. Detail is founded upon experience, and experience founded on the truest inbuilt Finnish culture.
Not Just a Sauna!
Have you considered that a sauna building does not just need to contain a sauna? You can incorporate a full exercise suite, additional showers, or perhaps a combined tranquil reading room to escape the noise and buzz of the family home. Incorporate a full deck and enjoy sitting under the stars after a hot sauna. Or add an ice plunge or jacuzzi to the mix and create a fully immersive garden spa.
